Monday blues

Glencoe

Monday blues. And, by the blues, I mean blue skies and ocean views…

Good day to you adventurers and what a day it is! How was your weekend? We hope you all embarked on some epic excursions along the way!

So, Sunday was only yesterday, and what a day that was! We ended the week sat up on Thatcher Rock Green soaking up the sunset, walking Monty (or rather Monty was walking us) whilst reminiscing about our week of wonders within our world of Trail Events. We recapped the results and resolutions we had made along the way, ready and raring to start the new week.

Today, the sun is shining over the South Coast path, the flowers are blossoming into spring, and the open sea is looking brilliantly blue whilst we embark on our early morning adventure to catch the fishermen out at sea, and let Monty roam free along the trail paths with, of course, some detours along the way when curiosity takes him. Now, I must let you know that Monty encountered a little injury whilst in training last week. Worry not, as he is on the mend and, being a warrior not a worrier, on today’s trail he took it a little slower than normal, giving us the chance to keep up with him for once!

So, let’s begin our journey of the updates we have had and routes we have taken, thus far. A week ago we wrote our first blog post for Trail Events. We enjoyed documenting our daily adventures and hope you enjoyed the read too! We’ll be updating our blog each Monday from now on so you lovely souls keep your eyes peeled for the adventures we are on and all the new Trail Events running news we have for you.

One thing we must mention is that our Fort William event on Ben Nevis has, sadly, been cancelled as the organisers somehow managed to double book the event! But, worry not, we may still be doing a run on the Sunday, and we have a great number of Trail running events coming up, so we shall be sure to keep you all updated.

Onwards and upwards, the last week has been a busy, bohemian turn of events in the Trail Events Studio, with ideas and ventures blossoming and blooming in motion with the spring flowers.

One of our adventurers, Ben, has been exploring the Glencoe mountains for our upcoming Trail running event. He had quite a blast up there seeing nature in all its beauty. With its all-season Highland, snow-sprinkled mountain tops and magnificent stags in sight, what’s not to love? Remember to make room in your adventure schedule for our Trail running voyage into the Scottish wilderness. Join us on this epic excursion this coming August 26th when we will be hosting Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultramarathon trail running events. From the footage I have seen, whilst Ben has been up there doing his thing, it is truly a breathtaking place to be. An event not to be missed, for the trail runners and thrill-seekers among you.

Listen up, folks, we have an exciting announcement to make and one that’s been bubbling beautifully for a while now… we have a new sponsor, no other than SAXX Underwear themselves are coming on board. We are thrilled to be collaborating with such a brand with their ethos of originality through heritage. Be sure to read about their adventure : https://www.saxxunderwear.com/ca/about-us.html Meanwhile, I’ll give you a little insight, as we all love a good adventure tale to be told… so, whilst travelling through Alaska on a fishing trip, and after many days of their undergarments rubbing their you-know-where, they decided there must be some way of stopping this happening, and to protect their manhood. So that’s where the hammock pants pocket idea came into place and, voilà, they found a solution!. We’ve been experimenting with their garments for a few months now, and I can tell you, hand on heart, that their mission to stop chafing is complete. These guys have all the gear, and the right idea. What champs! We look forward to the moments ahead with these guys.

So, you can see we have had an abundance of awe-provoking scenes, scenarios and simple joys happening this week. It’s all pretty exciting when you see your hard work coming together and your world of Trail running growing into a community of fellow fanatical trail runners and outdoor warriors. The outdoors and exploring are what we live for, so each day there is an adventure to be had and a tale to be told; it is rather beautiful and something we are happy to welcome you into.

Just last week, when the light nights finally made an appearance, we got the kayaks out and set
off on the open water to soak up the last of the spring sun before the sun set behind Thatcher Rock. You can sometimes spot Sammy the seal, but this time we were not so lucky.
You have to pinch yourself at moments like these. The pure authenticity of Mother Nature, who always welcomes you into her kingdom with kindness. They are moments made into memories. Ones to treasure, and return to.

That’s all from us here at Trail Events for the time being. Keep on adventuring!
