At our checkpoints you will find water, squash, coke, electrolytes, sweets, crisps, nuts, chocolate, bananas, cake, new potatoes and other carby bits on the marathon and ultra checkpoints . We are trying to reduce the use of plastic so we ask runners to bring reusable cups for coke and squash. There will not be any checkpoints during runs on our training weekends.

This distance has no checkpoints.

The magical Dartmoor National Park is home to this stunning trail running event.

We have had to change the format for the event this year in order to comply with new regulations of the Park due to the COVID-19 situation. We are now set on private land near Great Cator and Cator Common. With Dartmoor not being able to support events this year, we have had to move to private land and change the format to a lapped event.

We are just very excited and happy to be able to offer you the chance to run and take part in another great event.

The course as always is tough, challenging and very scenic. It will now be an 11.6K loop which means the half marathon, marathon and ultra marathon will be doing laps.

The 11K will be one single lap of this new course.

The half marathon will be two laps.

The marathon will be 4 laps.

The ultra will be five laps.

The start times will now be as follows:- You may start your run at any stage during these times, once you have registered and have your number and timing chip.

Ultra Marathon start time between 6-30am-7-30am

Marathon start time between 7-30am-8-30am

Half Marathon start time between 8-30am-9-30am

11k start time 9-30am-10-30am

You will be crossing fields, open moorland, rivers and woodland. We won’t be visiting any Tors unfortunately, but you can see them all around you.

The COVID-19 situation has made this a very hard decision for us, but we do not want to let you down and feel it is best to be able to get an event up and running as we know you are all desperate to get back out there on the trails!

Fully marked course with no navigation needed.

This event is now canicross friendly.

Camping is available in the HQ field on Friday and Saturday nights before and after the event.

Number & Timing Chip

For our events, numbers and timing chips are sent to runners in the post approximately 2-4 weeks before the event. Please ensure your address is up to date on the system you used to register. If you enter the event at the last minute, you will be able to collect your bib and timing chip on the day.

Please make a note of your registration time for the distance you selected and make sure you arrive giving yourself enough time to register.

Please also make a note of your briefing time and ensure you attend the briefing.

Both the number and the timing chip have to be worn at all times during the event.

You also have the chance to rent GPS tracking units, which enable your friends and family to track you all the way around the course.

Signage

We use a number of signs during our events. Arrow markers are on a hi-viz reflective red with white arrow to mark the direction to be taken.

We advise runners to bring a map of the route with them on event day in case of emergencies. You can download the map and print it and you can download GPX files to your device.

Regarding training weekends, no signage will be provided, as all runs will be guided.
